Santorini,

Santorini (officially known as Thira) is regarded among the most spectacular of Greek islands, being famous all over the world from postcard images depicting whitewashed churches and houses set against blue sea and sky. Also known as "the black pearl of the Aegean", Santorini, is a volcanic island hosting the largest caldera (crater) on earth (7 by 14 miles) that since an explosion in 1500 BC was filled by sea.
Some believe that Santorini is part of the legendary lost Atlantis. Black sand beaches, colourful (raw lava) cliffs, unique architecture and romantic sunsets comprise perhaps the most exciting aesthetic experience the Aegean offers. Fira, the island's capital is 900 feet above sea level and connects to the port either with the 600 steps, or a donkey ride, or via the cable car! .
