The West Mediterranean

Our suggested yacht for this area: Milena
The Western Mediterranean covers the area of the Mediterranean Sea between and including Spain, France and Italy, arguably the most well-known and prestigious cruising ground in the world.
Possibly the most sought after of these areas is the French Riviera, a playground for the rich and famous, a backdrop from international event such as the Cannes film festival and neighbouring Monte Carlo's Rally and home to some of the most prestigious restaurants, shops and hotels in the world. Cannes, Nice, Antibes and St. Tropez await on the French coast, Monte Carlo beckons
yachts to one of the oldest marinas and the Italian Riviera offers such gems as San Remo, the picturesque Porto Fino and the grand city of Genoa.
The islands of Elba, Sardinia and Corsica offer a variety of pleasures from the secluded bays and small villages to the cosmopolitan Costa Smeralda.
Spain from Marbella north to Barcelona offers its own inimitable style and the Balearic Islands or Ibiza, Minorca and Mallorca have a style and finesse of their very own.

The French Riviera

French Riviera allows you to sample the delights of restaurants such as La Moulin de Mougin located just a short distance from Cannes, the sumptuous Carlton hotel on the Croisette and to people watch right along the coast, in the hope of seeing a famous face or indeed of being recognised themselves! Anonymity is usually not a reason to take to the French Riviera.
St Tropez, adopted in the late sixties by the 'jet set' and kept in the spotlight by residents such as Brigitte Bardot, remains one of the favourite places for strolling and sipping coffee. Cannes with its International shopping, its market and its marinas also offers the sophisticated Croisette for strolling in the balmy evening air.

The Italian Riviera

The Italian Riviera is similar in many respects to the French Riviera but with a distinctly Italian flair. San Remo with its splendid marina and its shops and restaurants, an attractive older quarter to explore and its casino, is an excellent embarkation port for a voyage of discovery through the Italian waters.
Genoa further east is a magnificent city, though somewhat rough and dirty at first glance, disguising a wonderland of historical buildings and sites, museums and galleries and some fine shops and restaurants. With the improvement enjoyed in facilities since the opening of the new Molo Vecchio Marina, providing a safe and secure berth for yachts in the centre of the city, this too can offer a wonderful and convenient port for embarkation or disembarkation of a charter.

Spain

Spain and the Balearics comprise an amazing variety of scenery and pace of life from the fashionable Marbella in the south through the Costas to Barcelona in the north with its new harbour fronting a city renovated and revitalized in recent years to a clean and interesting place to visit, conveniently served by an international airport.
The Balearic islands of Mallorca, Minorca and Ibiza constitute a favoured cruising ground amongst sailors.
The variety of scenery, the contrast of frenetic nightlife in Ibiza and Palma with serene and unspoilt areas of the islands, where quiet anchorages and small villages can be enjoyed, plus the availability of stores and good airport connections, make this an exciting and fun cruising area with something for everyone.
